Hope, Peace and Joy

Greetings! It feels like Spring but I don’t want to get my hopes up. Isn’t interesting what I just wrote? I’ve probably said something like that hundreds of times. I wrote it then I thought, that’s kind of strange. First, it is a strange thought that somehow things like hope, peace, and joy are somehow related to the weather. And it’s strange that (I) we somehow hold back hope, peace, and joy based on the potential threat of circumstances (longer winter). It’s interesting. As I’ve been preparing for our new series in Philippians, I’ve noticed that hope, peace, and joy don’t have to be dependent on our circumstances. Paul, while in prison, wrote: “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:3-6 ESV)

Paul’s words were filled with hope, peace, and joy despite the circumstances he had been placed in. I am excited about this next series and I want to invite you to join us this weekend as we will begin a 10-week message series in 2 parts in Philippians with 2 weeks for Easter in between.

If you would like to peek ahead, here is a great Video Overview of Philippians from the Bible Project. (https://bibleproject.com/explore/video/philippians/)

Also, we have some big news at Big Creek! We are launching our new church website! You will be able to find Big Creek information, sermon videos, ways to give, and much more.

Looking forward to Sunday,
